TORNADO'S CONFIRMED FROM SUNDAY - November 7, 2017
The National Weather Service has reported that Sunday's tornadoes started in Delaware County, through Jay County into Mercer County. Tornado confirmed near Celina was and EF 2 estimated from 2:40 to 2:49 PM with a Maximum Wind Speed of 120 mph traveling 5 miles at a path width of 200 yards. The most significant damage was observed beginning at Crown Equipment Corporation. A significant portion of the roof was removed, and exterior walls on the southwest side of the building also collapsed. Damage was also noted on the east-facing side of the building. Businesses along Havermann Road were also affected. At least eight people were injured, Sunday afternoon from the tornado. There were 13 tornado touchdowns in Ohio on Sunday, according to a scan of National Weather Service data from five weather service offices. A long track tornado formed in Delaware County Indiana and continued through Blackford (IN), Jay (IN) and Mercer County (OH) before weakening. That Tornado also listed as an EF 2 with estimated peak wind at 134 mph . The most significant damage is consistent with EF2/134 mph. The NWS Indiana webpage will be updated to reflect this storm.
